DESCRIPTION:Stalew Pow Wow\nOn behalf of the stɑl̓əw̓ Arts and Cultural Society\, with our head office located on Kwantlen First Nation land in Fort Langley\, we are delighted and honoured to host the Fourth annual stɑl̓əw̓ pow-wow to be held September 12th\, 13th and 14th\, 2025 at the Langley Events Centre. \nstɑl̓əw̓ translates to big river in the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language\, and our name is intended to reflect the eternal importance and generosity of the Fraser River to Indigenous communities living along its shores from its inland reaches to where it meets the ocean\, as well as represent the many connections we have with each other and to this important and sacred place that we all share and call home.  Rivers connect and enable sharing and new opportunities – and we wish for the stɑl̓əw̓ pow-wow to be an event that shares\, honours and creates new opportunities to celebrate rich Indigenous traditions and build important and lasting connections. \nWe would like to extend our warmest greetings to all our visitors and participants to our Fourth Annual Pow-wow.  The purpose of our pow-wow is to celebrate Indigenous culture\, traditions\, music\, regalia and art.  It is a time to celebrate and preserve our rich heritage and keep traditional ways alive. We welcome you to share in the experience of learning the important role tradition plays and how these traditions define Indigenous culture.  We hope you enjoy the pow-wow and return home safely with lasting and renewed friendships and lots of wonderful memories! \nWe would like to express our gratitude to our partners\, for their support of the stɑl̓əw̓ Pow-wow in order to spread awareness and excitement amongst their viewers. SUMMARY:Aldergrove Fair
DESCRIPTION:The Aldergrove Fair is a long‐standing\, family‐centred community festival that celebrates Aldergrove’s agricultural heritage while providing accessible\, no or low‐cost activities for residents of all ages.\nThe 2026 Fair continues this tradition with a strong emphasis on children’s programming\, community engagement\, and ensuring that young families can participate.\nThe Fair’s children’s area remains a core feature\, with returning favourites such as the bouncy castle\, Yukon Dan’s gold panning\, the Greater Vancouver Zoo’s interactive displays\, and the dedicated Kids’ Stage on Saturday. These activities provide free\, high‐quality entertainment and learning opportunities for children\, supporting family participation and reducing financial barriers for households.\nAgriculture continues to anchor the event. The Fair is deepening its outreach to local farms\, inviting growers to participate through produce displays\, demonstrations\, sponsorships\, and educational programming. This strengthens relationships with the farming community\, supports local food systems\, and reinforces the Fair’s identity as a celebration of Aldergrove’s rural roots. Agricultural demonstrations\, competitions\, and heritage activities will continue to be featured throughout the weekend.\nThe Aldergrove Fair continues to be a cornerstone event for the Township of Langley—one that brings people together\, celebrates local heritage\, and provides inclusive\, family‐friendly experiences that strengthen community pride and connection. \n
